This painting depicts a woman submerged in glistening waters with her head just above the surface as lotus flowers grow up around her.

This painting ends up being my inspiration for creating my series of gouache mermaid paintings. The style I used in her hair and the water can be seen repeated in some of my later mermaid paintings.
